These notes are extremely important. Review before use.
- Read the Instruction Manual. A copy should be in the cabin manual (both hard-copy and digital) and another should accompany this Guide.
- It is of utmost importance that the Bleed screw (located at the end of the arm, above the handle, #11 on the following diagram) be opened before and closed after each use. It should be tightened before moving the splitter. From the manual, p. 5:
FAILURE TO LOOSEN THE BLEED SCREW WILL KEEP THE SEALED AIR IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPRESSED AFTER DECOMPRESSION. CONTINUOUS COMPRESSION AND DECOMPRESSION OF THE AIR WILL BLOW OUT THE SEALS OF THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, AND WILL CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE LOG SPLITTER.
- The hydraulic oil must be replaced after every 150 hours of use. With multiple users, it is important to log the number of hours of use. See and use log sheets attached.
- This is not a toy. Virtually everyone will want to observe this machine in operation. Ensure they do so from a safe distance.
- Anyone using the log splitter must complete the attached log to ensure the oil is replaced after 150 hours of use.
