OOS and Summer Time
Booking Block Cleaning Expectations

(updated April 15, 2023, after 2022 AGM Part II Discussions)

Shareholders agree to the following four areas of responsibility during cabin stays:

A – Air Quality Monitoring, Propane Monitoring and Dripline Use (during each cabin stay, OOS & Summer)

  • Turn on the two Filter Queen Air Purifiers during your entire stay.
  • Take a reading from the “Air Things View Plus” Air Quality Monitor and document it on Cody’s Google Sheet: “Cabin Air Quality Reading/Feedback” (click Here)
  • Report, on the same Google Sheet, all adverse reactions or experiences of family members or guests who have respiratory issues so that Shareholders can be aware of these and follow up
  • Take a photo of the Gauge on the Large Propane Tank in backyard and forward it to Sheila. (We are monitoring for propane escape.)
  • Turn on the Dripline, at least during the daytime. Keep an eye out for the dripline timer which is missing.

B – Regular Cleaning (each cabin stay, OOS & Summer)

  • swiffer and/or vacuum all floor areas
  • empty and clean fridge
  • launder any cabin items (sheets, towels, dish cloths etc…)
  • launder mattress & pillow covers and removable covers on futon & two recliners
  • wash down leatherette cover on futon
  • wash down leather and leatherette on both recliners
  • dust
  • clean bathrooms
  • wash dishes and return to cupboard
  • remove ashes from fireplace (These can be placed on the rosebushes.)
  • empty BBQ grease tray
  • remove pine needles from roof and gutters (Leafblower works well on roof.)
  • tidy up boathouse
  • store beach furniture, tools and BBQ inside boathouse
  • cut the lawn, if needed
  • The fridges and freezer should be left on for the upcoming guests unless they have arranged otherwise. (Please leave power on)

C – Deep Cleaning Responsibilities (During Summer Time Slots)

  • Summer Slot #1     Windows
    (Wash windows inside and outside.)
  • Summer Slot #2     All Light fixtures, fans and upper “cobweb areas” (Including around ceiling beams, entertainment shelving, cupboard fronts, bookshelf, and on top of and around kitchen cabinets. Wipe down or vacuum all rustic wood surfaces finished with varathane.)
  • Summer Slot #3     Comforter/blanket washing and living room/kitchen/bedroom Curtain washing

  • Summer Slot #4     Stovetop, Stove Vent, Oven and Refrigerator (including moving out the stove and fridge and cleaning the floor underneath them and the tiling behind them. Please carefully rinse off all oven cleaner, especially on the “ceiling” of the oven. Thank you.)
  • Summer Slot #5     Barbecue
(including grease tray and complete inside surfaces after removing racks. Oven cleaner and paper towels work very well, along with wearing rubber gloves.)

D – OOS Add-On Cleaning Responsibility

  • We agree that anyone staying at the cabin during OOS times (other than a workbee or work related stay bookings) would also complete one task (of their choice, as needed) apart from the regular cleaning expectations, keeping the cabin up to date.

Thank you.
