Cabin Rules of Thumb from Boompa
(aka, Alph Tousignant)
This wisdom was taken from the original “Fintry Cabin Manual” (green binder) prepared by Dad, Mom, Dale and Sheila. The section was entitled, “Procedures and Information for Cabin Users,” and Dad was the primary author.
Septic Tank Anything that does not dissolve should not be put into the septic tank.
Septic Field Do not park vehicles on top of the septic field which extends out from the septic tank far into the yard. Park in the driveway or on the patch of grass out by Shorts Rd.
Fireplace Keep burning wood away from the heatalator’s back and sides;that is, do not let burning wood touch the sides of the heatalator (the inner shell in the fireplace box).
Coffee Grounds Place in garbage, not in sink drain.
Digging Before doing any digging or even pounding of stakes or similar objects into the ground, please consult the hand-drawn map of the property because there are water lines, propane lines, electric cables and the septic tank & its large drainage field buried near and around the cabin.
